In 2023, NATO launched the project “Protect The Future,” aimed at introducing young people to NATO’s role in safeguarding and securing their future. To implement the project, creators from Poland and the Baltic states were involved, and our task was to ensure smooth NATO communication to youth through Lithuanian influencers.
Two outstanding content creators communicated NATO’s mission to the Lithuanian audience – Aurimas Valujavičius and Paulius Mikolaitis. Both influencers actively promote civic engagement through their content and are deeply engaged in social initiatives, making their involvement in this campaign both highly relevant and organic.
Throughout the campaign, we ensured that the creators could share authentic, first-hand experiences from within NATO and address the key questions that matter most to young people. Over the course of the project, the influencers produced content from NATO Headquarters in Brussels, the NATO Youth Summit, an air base hosting the “Ramstein Alloy” exercises, the NATO Summit in Vilnius, and the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier.
These unique experiences opened the door for young audiences to explore NATO’s mission up close and to learn, in a relatable format and voice, about the actions the Alliance takes to ensure security across its member states.
Over the six-month campaign, the influencers created 150 pieces of content and reached more than 270,000 users.
Through their content, they successfully engaged the target audience – followers actively followed their journey, asked questions related to NATO’s activities, and the creators sought answers to topics important to young people by engaging directly with NATO leaders and experts.
The campaign concluded symbolically in January 2024 with the unveiling of the “Protect The Future” mural in Vilnius by artist Žygimantas Amelinas, representing a united and free future safeguarded by NATO.
